A Black People’s History of Canada is designed to create and share exciting new materials for teaching and learning African Canadian history across the curriculum.

A Black People’s History of Canada (BPHC) project is led by principal investigator Dr. Afua Cooper, award-winning historian and author.

The Department of Canadian Heritage is the primary funder of this project.
